Zoom’s H5 Handy Recorder wins the top award for “Recording Devices” in Outstanding Technical Achievement at the 30th Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards. The awards were held Saturday, January 24 during the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA.
“Our products are constantly evolving to meet the needs of the creators who use them," said Micah Eberman, VP of Brand Engagement at Zoom North America. "The H5 continues that tradition, providing everything needed to do professional-quality multitrack recording in the field and capture pristine audio for video, broadcast, and podcast.”
“The people and products that were nominated at this year's TEC Awards, especially on this milestone 30th anniversary, deserve our respect and admiration,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. “And those select few who have gone home with a coveted TEC Award have set a high bar for the industry. These are the tools and sounds that will shape the music we will be listening to for years to come.”
The H5 was selected for the award by a panel of pro audio and music industry professionals who carefully review each nominated product. Shun Kudoh, Manager of Handheld Recorders at Zoom Corporation received the award for Zoom before an audience of his peers. Also honored during the evening’s events were guitar legend Slash, who received the prestigious Les Paul Award, and NAMM TEC Hall of Fame inductees Nathan East and Ed Cherney.
The NAMM TEC Awards are the professional audio and music production industry's most prestigious awards show honoring excellence in sound technology and creativity.
