—Innovation in a portable package receives five prestigious awards—
Ronkonkoma, New York, February 7, 2014 — In the six short months since its release, the Zoom H6 Handy Recorder has garnered not only critical acclaim and commercial success, but five major industry awards, including a TEC award for Outstanding Technical Achievement (Recording Devices).
The H6 was also awarded an Electronic Musician 2013 Editor's Choice, and was deemed Best Recorder by Sound on Sound and Best Multitrack Recorder / Recording & Mixing Software of 2013 by Music & Sound Retailer. In addition, the H6 was named Best In Show at 2013 Summer NAMM.
"We’re proud of the H6 " said Zoom North America CEO Scott Goodman, "and it’s gratifying to see it receive such widespread recognition, both from the creative community and from our peers in the industry."
The H6 employs a unique system of interchangeable input capsules and records up to six tracks simultaneously in a variety of MP3 and BWF-compliant WAV file formats, including 24-bit / 96k. It can be attached to a camera strap or mounted directly to a DSLR or camcorder, and four XLR/TRS combo input jacks enable the connection of external microphones or line-level devices. In addition, a USB port enables data transfer to and from audio editing software and allows the H6 to serve as a multichannel audio interface for computers and tablets.
